Purpose, contribution and what comes next.
I’m Rick Paget, Life Purpose Coach and founder of Equipe Coaching. I help people think clearly about purpose, recognise what they already have to build upon, and take a meaningful next step.
The question has been personal for me too.
Long before I trained as a coach, I spent years trying to understand my purpose and direction. Many people, events and experiences helped shape who I am today. Some of the tools and processes that helped me find clarity are ones I’ve since shared with others.
Over time, I naturally found myself engaging with people who were also looking for direction and purpose. That eventually became the foundation for the Discover Your Calling course and, later, Equipe Coaching.
I’ve come to see purpose less as a single straightforward answer. It’s more about a direction that becomes clearer as we pay attention, make choices and take meaningful steps.
You already have something valuable to build upon.
I don’t believe discovering purpose means starting again or finding one perfect answer. Over time we gather experience, strengths, relationships, perspective and lessons. Some come through success, others through difficulty, responsibility or everyday life. All of it can become part of what comes next.
Purpose can also unfold in stages. The stage immediately ahead may matter most for this season, while a broader sense of calling becomes clearer over time. For me, meaningful direction also has an outward dimension: not only what brings you fulfilment, but also how what you’ve gained could contribute something worthwhile to others.
My faith has also shaped how I think about purpose, calling and service. Coaching itself is centred on your values, choices and direction, and I work with people of any background or belief.
Alongside you, not ahead of you.
The name Equipe comes from the French word équipe, meaning “team”, and also echoes the English word equip — to make ready. Both describe how I want coaching to work.
My role isn’t to stand at the front with an answer you’re expected to follow. It’s to come alongside you, ask thoughtful questions, offer practical structure where it helps, and encourage you to take the next step when you’re ready. You remain responsible for your direction and decisions.
Professional training, backed by real-world experience.
My professional coach training was completed through ICF-accredited Coach U programs, and I’ve been coaching since 2008. That training gave me a foundation in listening well, asking useful questions and supporting people to reach their own decisions.
My experience across business, community leadership and service also shapes how I work. It keeps our conversations grounded in real decisions and the practical realities of moving something forward.
