You don’t need to see the whole path at the start. The process helps clarify what you can see for now: a clear next step, several stages ahead, or a stronger sense of the direction you’re heading towards.
Look back over your life to see the foundations that have shaped you and the trends that run through it.
Look at where you are now and what you’re carrying with you: what’s supporting you, and what may be holding you back.
Imagine a life well lived, and what you’d want it to stand for.
Put clear words and focus around what you do, so your direction can be expressed and acted on.
Work through the structures, considerations and approaches that turn direction into practical next steps.
Purpose comes in stages. Each is a stepping stone, and the one immediately ahead of you is the focus for this season of your life.
Calling is the bigger picture: the direction those stages of purpose are leading towards.
Over time you may move through several stages of purpose. Each can be meaningful in its own right while also helping that broader direction become clearer.
What comes into focus differs from person to person. Along the way, the process can help bring greater clarity to questions like these:

Discover Your Calling is an online course made up of five Elements and 22 short video lessons, with guided reflection exercises you can work through in your own time. The lessons take a coaching approach, with thoughtful questions that help you explore your own answers.
A suggested pace is about one Element a week, or around five weeks, but there’s no timetable. You have 12 months of online access to move at the pace that suits your life, and to return to the lessons whenever you need.
All you need is a computer, Wi-Fi and the commitment to see it through. (Printer optional.)

I’m Rick Paget, founder and coach at Equipe Coaching. My professional coach training was completed through ICF-accredited programs, and I’ve been coaching since 2008. My interest in purpose and calling began well before that.
For about 15 years after leaving school, I was trying to understand my own direction. I explored different paths, ideas and approaches, gradually recognising that some of the most useful clues were already present in my experiences, values and the things that continued to matter to me.
As I began coaching others, I saw something similar happening in their lives…
People didn’t necessarily need someone to give them the answer. Thoughtful questions, reflection and the opportunity to recognise patterns in their own story could help a direction begin to take shape.
One of those early one-to-one coaching experiences became a major catalyst for me. I watched someone move from an emerging idea, through further learning and practical stages, towards work that became deeply meaningful to her. She didn’t see the entire path at the beginning. Each stage helped reveal more of what was ahead.
That experience, together with my own journey and what I was learning through coaching, led me to create the first version of Discover Your Calling in 2012.
The course has continued to develop since then, but the principle underneath it remains simple: give people a thoughtful, practical process that helps them recognise what is already there, explore what could be ahead, and begin moving towards it.

Further sessions are available if useful, and Rick can tailor the support to suit what you need.
A common approach is three sessions over about six months, though a single session is fine too.
